This is an ancient game for two players.  It was found in the Temple of Kurner in Egypt, which was built around 1440BC.  It was found in a roof slab, which would seem to indicate that the people building the temples were playing the game. Evidence of the game has also been found in ancient burial sites in the First City of Troy and Ireland.  An example was found in a collapsed dry stone wall near Lake Windermere.  It was also mentioned in Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummers Nights Dream. The aim of this game is to get three marbles in a straight line on a black line.  A player must make their move even if it is to their disadvantage. A player who is down to two marbles or who cannot move has lost the game.
